Last Thursday Thomas Busutill launched the long-awaited Aus Berlin Yearbook at Civilist store in Berlin. As the De Paris and Of London ones the Aus Berlin Yearbook is also a great compilation of street photography from various photographers, which depict the life of skateboarders in one of Europe’s greatest skate metropolises. The book is a piece of art as it is a piece of history with photographies from Henrik Biemer, Benjamin Deberdt, Alexei Lapin, Alex Pires, Danny Sommerfeld and many many more.
The book launch was accompanied by a photo exhibition and a video premiere as well.

Tomorrow it is finally time for the long-awaited (at least by us) launch of the Aus Berlin 2015 Yearbook. At the launch event, there will be an exhibition and a video premier just to spice things up just a tad bit more. So if you want to see what happened last year in Germany’s capital head over to Civilist tomorrow around 7:30PM so you can enjoy the book, the video, and the exhibition.

For those of you that want to know a bit more about the yearbook project, we did an interview with Thomas Busuttil who started the Yearbook project that you can check out here.

Highsnobiety just released a very interesting video on the recent Crailtap Exhibition, that went down in Los Angeles some weeks ago. Here’s more info and the video of course!

Crailtap, parent brand to Girl and Chocolate Skateboards among others, recently celebrated 20 years with a group photo exhibition entitled “Crail Camera Crew.” The brand’s first purely photographic show, CCC features work from regular collaborators including Jerry Hsu, Sam Smyth, Aaron Meza, Andy Mueller, Ben Colen and Eric Anthony. Chronicling the last 15 years of Crailtap, which includes brands Girl, Chocolate, Fourstar, Royal, Lakai and Crailtap, the online magazine, it’s hard to pin it down into one category, with the brand describing itself as more of an ethos than a regular company.

Jim Phillips “Screaming Hand” is one of Skateboarding’s most significant graphics of all time and even has it’s traveling exhibition, that stops in Berlin finally. To honor this outstanding logo, Santa Cruz Skateboards invited over 50 influential designers to re-interpret and pay hommage to this iconic image. For the Berlin show, The Skateboard Museum has curated a collective of Berlin based artists to give another perspective… Highly recommended!

A nostalgic edit about a whole different period of German skateboarding, brought to you by the good people over at Bonkers Shop in Frankfurt am Main. This video includes skateboarding by Schwarzi, Michel Lang, Sascher Richter at the famous Hauptwache spot in Frankfurt am Main.

More about Hauptsache Hauptwache.

The Hauptwache spot in Frankfurt am Main was one of the best spots for the German skateboard culture back in the 90’s. Other than that it is located in the middle of a European metropolis. Bumfights, drug-dealing and skateboarding, this Exhibition shows all of it. Make sure to step by at Bonkers to see a documentation of a very important era of European skateboarding.

20th of june, Bonkers-Shop Klappergassse 11 in Frankfurt am Main.

Dave Ortiz ist New Yorker Urgestein, war lange Zeit bei Zoo York und ist der Mann hinter DQM. Hypebeast schrieb einmal: “You’re not a true New Yorker unless you’ve heard of, met or hung out with Dave Ortiz” – das will einiges heißen.

“The Öctagon is totalitarian and omniscient. Billions of data are generated by this independent system and build a unique reality. Individuals live within the Öctagon. Geographic space doesn’t exist for real, it is not tangible but still defined by a multitude of data.”

Swing by!
